Missing IMEI/Serial Number in Tickets Created via RD Forms
Current Scenario:
Customers submit tickets through RD Forms, but the forms lack a field for IMEI or serial number, which is crucial for asset tracking.
The ticket created in RepairDesk automatically syncs with an asset, but the asset does not have IMEI/serial number information.
When the IMEI/serial number is updated in the ticket within RepairDesk, it does not update the asset associated with the ticket in the asset management system.
If the updated IMEI/serial number matches an existing asset, the system does not map them together. This results in duplicate asset entries for the same device.
Requested Solution:
Ticket Detail Page Mapping: A dropdown should be available within the RD Forms ticket creation process (whether created through the form or manually at POS) for the relevant fields to be mapped, such as IMEI, serial number, diagnostic notes, etc.
Custom Fields and Repair Categories: The dropdown should allow the user to select fields such as IMEI or serial number based on the repair category, and those fields should be displayed automatically in the ticket creation form, ensuring that IMEI/serial numbers are included.
Auto-Sync Asset Information: When the IMEI or serial number is updated in the ticket, it should automatically update the corresponding asset information in the Asset Management section.
Mapping Existing Assets: If the IMEI or serial number matches an existing asset, the system should map the new ticket to the existing asset, updating the asset history accordingly. If it is a new device, it should create a unique asset ID and associate it with the ticket.
